Between
November 1 through March 31 each year Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issues either a RED or Blue color code for the air quality each day.  Only producing Agricultural zoned areas or Ditch Companies are permitted to burn during this time.  Call (303) 758-4848 for Air Quality Recording.  Recording is updated each day at 4pm for the next day.  RED - NO  burning allowed for that day;  BLUE - burning is allowed.

 

 

 

  1. Agricultural Burn - Must be crop residue from previous years crop ONLY -  i.e. burning hay fields to prepare field for next years seeding.   If you are a farmer and want to burn your tree limbs, tumbleweeds, or yard residue you MUST apply for a regular burn permit. 

  2. There is NO burning of  trash, furniture, gas cans, mattresses, etc.

  3. Bonfires:  Special Permit ; must be obtained from GBFPD Fire Marshal prior to burn

  4. NO Burning in High Winds!

  5. ALL FIRES MUST BE OUT BEFORE SUNSET
