The Mobile Command and Communications Unit was built by a company in Florida called MBF. It was custom built in 2005. It was funded through the "Homeland Security Grant" called Law Enforcement Terrorist Prevention Program. The "Brighton Police Department". was awarded the grant and because we could not meet all the standards for storing the vehicle it was gifted to the Greater Brighton Fire Protection District with an understanding that it would be a shared asset between the Police Department and the Fire District. The unit is to be used as a regional asset, 10 counties surrounding the Denver Metro area, for CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive) events and regional sanction exercises.
