Built in 19XX, Station #53 is the "Pride of the Southside".  Originally built for the volunteers to cover a large portion of the south side of the Fire District.  In the 1990's, the station housed a ambulance crew from "Platte Valley Ambulance".  Today, Station #53 is staffed by two career firefighters 24/7.

In 2006, the Fire District  did remodel and addition to the station.  A third apparatus bay was added to the west-side of the station as well as additional crews quarters.  The remodel increased the size of the kitchen area and a workout area.  Station #53 response area surrounds the northern end of "Denver International Airport" and the north end of the City of Commerce City.
