The Fire District protects a large portion without any fire hydrants.  Because of this, the Fire District operates a fleet of five Tankers.  All of the Tankers carry a minimum of 3,000 gallons of water, a fire pump and a porta-pond.  Each Tanker can transport water from a fire hydrant back to the scene of an emergency.  They also can be used to supply an Fire Engine with a fire hose.  Tanker 51 was purchased by the Fire District in 1979 and the tank was constructed from a local builder.  This tanker carries 3,200 gallons of water and has a fire pump rated at 500 gallons per minute.
